Bio
I'm a lady with green eyes and freckles who lives in Chesterfield, Derbyshire with a seven year old mental cat called Cabbage. I've been around the fur community for a good few years now, having a spiritual link to all things phoenixy :) Flying and the birth and rebirth cycle hold a lot of personal meaning for me. And yes, I do have a feather collecting habit, though I try and limit myself these days. The pride of place in the collection goes jointly to a feather from a young golden eagle, a swan flight feather and the wing from a cock pheasant I butchered myself a few years ago :) (butchering = yick. Don't think I'll be doing that again.)
I graduated with BA Hons in Archaeology and Prehistory in 2003 and have successfully graduated in a Masters in European Historical Archaeology again at Sheffield University in Dec 2006. All archaeology = win. Even the commercially corrupt public offering that is Time Team. Save for industrial and theory which don't. I have a fondness for the Scandinavian Saga age, literacy and the Dark Ages in Britain, and really enjoy practical fieldwork, although I've got to the point were I risk my knees going so I don't go and do so much now :/ Highlights so far include digging official holes in the multi-period sites of Wood Hall in Pontefract(http://www.archaeology.co.uk/the-timeline-of-britain/wood-hall.htm) , Crickley Hill in Gloucestershire(http://chreunion2009.blogspot.com/), a Roman site at Lightwater in Surrey and spending 4 seasons at the multi period Brodsworth Project in Doncasterhttp://www.shef.ac.uk/archaeology/field-schools/brodsworth. I found the first Roman coin to date on the first day of my first dig (Crickley Hill) way back when. Hooked? Oh yes :D
I've been attending the Chesterfield and Cromford moots of the Derbyshire Pagans since January 2007, being pagan is a big part of who I am, and I was solo for way too long. They're a pretty nice bunch *grins*. I wrote and directed the Yule Ball Play in December 2008, and am probably going to be roped in again this year. I split my time between many things, just read to find out ;) Currently I'm learning how to ride a motorbike. Go figure. I do lots of other stuff: work, cross stitch, write poetry and short stories, collect feathers, and help organise the madness that is the annual Woolley Sheep weekend in October, to name but a few.
Entries here are just as likely to be on a spiritual discussion, as postings of my poetry, snatches of creative writing, and day to day life with commentary thereon. Most of them are friends only, so if it looks a bit sparse, that's why. It's a bit of an intense mix sometimes. I'm sure you'll cope ;)
